How To Register

  1. New students - Set up your MEID and Student ID Number at my.maricopa.edu. The MEID is your username for online services and the student ID is used for in-person services. Go to my.maricopa.edu and click First-time Users Start Here. No web access? Skip to the next step and we will help you get your MEID and Student ID number later. If you have a problem, call the Helpdesk at 1-888-994-4433. Write down your MEID and Student ID number.
  2. Get admitted to Scottsdale Community College. Log in at my.maricopa.edu and click MCCCD Admissions to complete the Student Information Form online, or you can complete and submit a paper copy to Admissions and Records. A photo ID is required for in-person transactions. The Student Information Form is also available in the college's Admissions, Advisement, and Counseling Offices; and online.   3. Take the placement tests for English, reading and math. New students must take all three tests before registering. A photo ID is required for all testing. Study guides and sample questions are online at the Testing Center site and at the Testing Center, room 165 northeast external corner of the Library(LB), 480-423-6433.
  4. Get advised. New students must attend College Kickoff to get advised and register. Transfer students should meet with an Academic Advisor and must bring unofficial copies of all college transcripts. Appointments are available, walk-ins welcome.  Advisement Center, Student Center (SC) room 118, 480-423-6539.
  5. Register for courses. Log in to my.maricopa.edu and click on Add a Class or complete the registration form and submit it to the Admissions and Records Office. Be sure to note the payment and refund deadlines. There are three ways to register... online, in-person, or by phone.
  6. Activate your Maricopa email account and Google Apps. Navigate to google.maricopa.edu and log in with your MEID and password. Your Maricopa email address will be yourMEID@maricopa.edu. This will be the only email address we use for official correspondence.
  7. Apply for financial aid and scholarships. Some aid is limited, so apply early. Financial Aid, room SC-152, (480) 423-6549. Also visit www.scottsdalecc.edu/financial for information.
  8. Pay tuition and fees. Payment plans are available. Pay online at my.maricopa.edu or at the Cashier's Office, room SS-138, (480) 423-6148.
  9. Get your free SCC student photo ID. Stop by the Student Life and Leadership Office in the cafeteria with a copy of your class schedule and a photo ID. Room SC-185, 480-423-6538.
  10. Purchase or rent books. Books are marked on the shelves by the class number. Purchase early for the best selection of used books. Bookstore, room SC-104, (480) 423-6554.
  11. Attend the New Student Orientation. It's free and informative. Register in advance for one of the sessions. Student Life and Leadership, room SC-185, (480) 423-6538

IN-PERSON

A New, Continuing or Former student may register in person at the Admissions Office located on the southwest side of the campus during the office hours. A completed Course Registration Form must be submitted to a Registration Clerk. The Course Registration Form is available in the Admissions, Advisement and Information Offices. It is recommended that students register in person during the open registration periods to avoid long lines and delays during the late registration period (see front inside cover for exact dates).

A Student Information Form must be on file in the Admissions Office prior to registration. An operator will assist in the registration process or answer general information questions. To expedite the registration process, please know the four-digit "section" number of all classes that will be registered. All assessments, prerequisites and payment deadlines listed in the Class Schedule will apply to telephone registration. Other restrictions include:

  1. Students can not register for any class requiring a signature. These classes are noted in this Class Schedule and require in-person registration in the Admissions and Records Office.
  2. Students can not register for any course requiring special conditions such as Special Projects or Cooperative Education. These courses require in-person registration in the Admissions and Records Office.
  3. Students can not attempt to add a class once the class has begun, without instructor's signature approving the late start.
  4. Students can not withdraw by telephone after the 45th day(16 wk course). For classes with shorter lengths, check the Deadline Schedule.
