The British Isles are one of the world’s premier travel destinations. This region of the European realm lies off the coast of Western Europe and consists of two major Islands that are surrounded by many smaller ones. The larger of these islands is Britain, with Ireland being the smaller landmass to the west. The countries found here include the United Kingdom (England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland) and the Republic of Ireland.

With its wealth of history and world influence, this region is still a major focus of current global development. The port cities to be visited will provide a wide array of geographic diversity as students explore both the obvious, as well the subtle, differences that are found throughout the region.
