The Robbins Butte Wildlife Management Area is located about seven miles west of Buckeye. Its 1,681 acres were purchased in multiple parcels between 1951 and 1973, and encompass a wide variety of important wildlife habitats that are important as a riparian-desert ecotone. These diverse habitats include cattail marshes, riparian cottonwoods, tamarisk scrub, and even cactus-scattered desert, and are home to a number of special interest species, such as the Desert Tortoise and the endangered Yuma Clapper Rail.
Robbins Butte is managed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department specifically as wildlife habitat. For more information, please visit the AZGFD’s website for Robbins Butte.
Species information is still being collected at this site, so please check back later for more updates.
