  • Open to all SCC students, faculty and staff  (International and American)
  • Meet people from other countries and learn about other cultures
  • Join our activities and trips (ask about our upcoming events!)

A Message from the Club Advisor
"Global Artichokes has a lot to offer everyone. We help in the community with various service projects, have fun going to special events and day-trips, and make friends with people from all over the world! In the past few years, members enjoyed camping in northern Arizona, ice-skating, watching movies, working with kids at a local elementary school, hosting a Thanksgiving dinner with American Indian Programs, collecting and donating shoes to children in need from around the world, and much more! Come see what our club is all about! New members are always welcome. Get involved today and have fun!"
- Kathleen Lueppker

Messages from our 2008-2009 past officers:
"Being part of the Global Artichokes was a blast! I met so many people from all around the world and we were able to share so much about our different experience with one another! At the begining of the year I attended a baseball game with the club. Several of those in attendance had never been to a ball game before! I am also so proud of the club for completing the 1000 cranes project! It was an amazing experience to share a part of my culture with the entire campus and see the enthusisam that it created. Thanks to everyone who embraced this expression of our wish for peace! It was a wonderful experience I will never forget!"
- Chanda Kim

“SCC's diverse community is one of its greatest assets! We can embark on an unforgettable cultural adventure right here on campus.”
- Denise Andreotti-Phillips, Presidentp3290145.jpg

“The International Community Club, now Global Artichokes, is not only a great chance to meet people of diverse backgrounds but is also a great way to attend fun social events with a group of people. From a day trip to Sedona, or a few hours at a world festival, or even taking part in a bake sale... studying at SCC wouldn't feel the same for me without having the opportunity to be a member of the Global Artichokes.”
- Abidah Khalife, VP Finance

“Joining the Global Artichokes has given me the chance to meet wonderful people while learning about the many cultures, helping the community, and participating in different events and activities. It has allowed me to feel more connected and apart of SCC and experience first-hand how dedicated all the staff members are in creating a special environment and providing a myriad of opportunities for students!”
- Rita Pavoni, VP Communication

“All of the international students and other global travelers should take part in what I have found to be a community global experience... Hooray for the Global Artichokes!”
- Sharon Ann Chambers, Secretary
